Job Title Assistant Field Hockey Coach/Recreation Coordinator
Department PERA Admin

The Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics Department (PERA) is seeking an individual with experience in working within a community of diverse students and colleagues. Successful candidates will by their administrative, coaching, leadership or service demonstrate they can contribute to the diversity and excellence of athletics, the department and our community.
Field Hockey Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the program; including the planning and execution of successful and challenging practices, coaching during the non-traditional and traditional season, player development, game preparation, recruiting, scouting, fundraising and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Recreation Responsibilities: Assist Director of Recreation with the management and coordination of all Recreational programming. Assist with the development of student leaders, training and supervision of student workers, special events, emergency action plans, and equipment inventories. Coordinate intramural and open recreation programming. Assist with Club Sport officer advising. Supervise spring club sport event operations, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Recreation.

Start date is August 1, 2017


Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred and 1-3 years of work related experience. The successful candidate must have collegiate playing experience, leadership skills, role modeling, organizational, and interpersonal skills and have an understanding of NCAA Division III regulations. Experience with Division III recruiting at a selective institution, including written correspondence with prospective players, required. Proficiency with Front Rush recruiting software a plus, but not required. Experience in recreational management and programming required. The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, and possess the ability to multi-task and work autonomously. Valid driver’s license and clearance to drive College vehicles required. CPR/AED/First Aid certification required upon hire.
