Description

The Spanish Department at Wellesley College seeks a specialist in Early Modern Spanish Literature and Culture with strong Spanish language teaching credentials for a position to begin in fall 2018 at the rank of Assistant Professor. PhD preferred (ABD considered). Responsibilities will include teaching four courses per year as well as other advising and service contributions (such as participation in interdepartmental programs, e.g. Medieval/Renaissance Studies or Comparative Literature). Evidence of scholarly promise and excellent teaching at the undergraduate level is requisite, as is familiarity with language pedagogy and commitment to teaching language, literature, and culture at all levels of the curriculum. Salary is competitive and commensurate with credentials; the successful application will be a benefits eligible member of the Wellesley College faculty with access to a conference travel budget and competitive faculty awards to support research.
