Description

This role is as a per-diem staff member of the Health Service, a a department within the Division of Student Life. This clinician provides a broad range of basic primary care and routine gynecologic care to Wellesley College students. Reporting to the Director, this clinician collaborates with other members of the clinical team including the physicians, other mid-level providers, nurses, nutritionist, laboratory staff, physical therapist, and community outreach nurse educator. In addition the Adult or Family NP/PA works closely with the Assistant Director of Health Education and Wellness, administrative staff, and other members of the Division and campus community. As a per-diem member of the Wellesley College Health Service team, this clinician plays an active role in working toward attaining the department’s mission and vision, caring for Wellesley College students.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provides comprehensive primary and routine gynecologic care within a holistic framework and when needed initiates and manages subspecialty referrals
• Collaborates with and serves as a resource to other members of the Health Service team and members of other departments with the goal of furthering education in the areas of healthy lifestyles and disease prevention
• May participate in the Health Service’s on-call schedule
• Supports the work of the Health Service and the Division of Student Life by participating in other work as assigned

Requirements

Current, nationally recognized, certification as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, with expertise and experience in primary and gynecologic care
• Current and active state licensure
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Five or more years of broad clinical experience in an active practice, preferably with a young adult population. Higher ed experience is a plus
• High levels of proven culture competence and experience caring for an LGBT and diverse young adult population from a broad demographic are highly desirable
• Experience with contraceptive technology
• Knowledge of and proficiency with electronic medical record software, Medicat knowledge preferred
• Familiarity with CDC and current travelers’ health recommendations
