Description

As a core member of the Stone Center Counseling Services team this position will provide case management services to Wellesley College Students while working in close collaboration with a team of mental health professionals. This position will devise, implement and oversee case management policies and procedures in collaboration with the Director of Counseling Services. The position will work in collaboration with the office of the Dean of Students, Health Services and other departments on-campus as part of the Division of Student Life, as well as with Colleagues in the community and hospitals that treat Wellesley College Students.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Develop and implement systems for follow-up with students who have been referred to community resources (therapists, psychiatrists, clinics, inpatient treatment facilities).

-Communicate with staff, parents, families or designated emergency contacts regarding emergencies including hospitalizations and other crises to help facilitate success on campus, or transition back to campus if possible, when issues are appropriately resolved.

-Oversee the medical leave clearance process as well as the process for students with deferred admission for mental health reasons. Follows up with students who return from leaves and maintain ongoing communication to support compliance with treatment recommendations.

-Assists with the assessment and clearance process of students planning to study abroad and act as liaison to the Study Abroad Office for students with mental health concerns.

-In coordination with counseling staff, assist and support students in accessing services from community resources for outpatient mental health care.

-Advoacte on behalf of, and provide case management for students who may need multiple support services across campus.

-Assists students who have been hospitalized for mental reasons in their successful transition back to campus which includes assistance with discharge planning, coordinating follow-up care and facilitatiing students in accessing appropriate services on and off-campus.

-Collaborate with counseling staff in the treatment and disposition planning for students with complex mental health needs.

-Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive referral database for mental health providers throughout the state of Massachusetts and assist students in finding mental health care in their home states.

-Keep appropriate records and documentation of case management activities.

-Participate in the on-call after hours rotation.

-Establish collegial working relationships with local hospitals.

This position is 24 hours/week and on the full-year schedule.

Requirements

-Licensed Masters’ level Mental Health professional in Psychology or Licensed Master’s Level Clinical Social Worker in the state of Massachusetts.

-3 to 5 years clinical experience, ideally with college students. Experience and comfort in working with students with complex mental health issues.

-Cross cultural competency in working with varied clinical populations.

-Efficiency with electronic record systems; timely record keeping.

-Consultation, teaching and training interest/skill

-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

-Student focused and client-centered
