IACT (Inspired, Active, Committed, Transformed) is an initiative that builds on the success of Birthright Israel by providing support and inspiration to students before and after their trip. This is a unique position for a candidate with 1-2 years of work experience and who is skilled in organizing, marketing, event planning, and program development. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate previous successful implementation of creative ideas.

The IACT Coordinator will work with students prior to their departure and upon their return from their Taglit-Birthright Israel experiences developing activities to engage students in Jewish life on campus, by encouraging them to become involved as leaders and participants in student-organized Jewish programming and initiatives, and by directing them to and facilitating their participation in existing Israel-related opportunities on and off campus.

1. Establish a sense of energy and excitement about the wonderful opportunity of visiting Israel through the Birthright Israel Program.
2. Elevate the Birthright experience through trip enhancements, innovative approaches to informal education before and after the trip and exciting group building opportunities.
3. Promote the ongoing engagement to Birthright participants in Jewish life at Wellesley College.
4. Ensure that students reap the maximal benefits of Birthright through thoughtful pre and post trip programs and activities.
5. Play a lead role in elevating each Birthright experience through innovative trip enhancements and creative opportunities to promote group building and strong relationships among participants.
6. Oversee the administrative efforts involved with signing students up for the program and ensuring that all travel arrangements are in place (eg. ensuring that students have up-to-date passports).
7. Work in close partnership with the Israel tour educators and other Birthright staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
8. Follow up with students upon return both individually as well as through group reunions and gatherings.

This is a term position ending 5/31/2018.

• Self-starting, motivated to seek out opportunities and projects.
• Comfortable presenting in front of groups, outgoing and personable.
• Excellent follow-through on projects, and the ability to multi-task.
